Lids and 3”

Bottoms

All 10-sided studio kilns—even

the 2 ½” wall models—have a de

luxe 3” thick reversible brick bottom

for extra insulation and energy sav

ings. 3" wall models and the S-99

have 3” thick lids. The S-24,

SnF-24 and TnF-24 have 2 ½"

thick lids.

Exclusive LiteLid

The massive lids are easy to lift with the exclu

sive, patented Paragon counter-balance LiteLid.

(It is not installed on the S-99.) The LiteLid re

duces the strain on the kiln body from the pres

sure of the lid. This lengthens the life of the

firebrick walls. The LiteLid eliminates cumber

some pulleys and ropes. It allows the lid to ex

pand during firing. Ask competitors if their lid

spring has a truss and a floating lid.

Easy-Access Digital Kiln

Switch Box

Hinged at the bottom, the switch box on 8-,

10- and 12-sided TnF and Viking kilns opens for-

ward for easy maintenance. Open the box in sec-

onds by merely disconnecting the power and

removing two screws. A folding support arm

holds the box in the open position. There is

plenty of working space around electrical compo-

nents.

The Sentry controller is mounted at the top of

the switch box within easy reach.

Heavy Duty Kiln Stand

The 24” wide stand for 10- & 12-sided kilns

supports the brick bottom with 4 ½” wide fram

ing across the top of each side. The stand is

rock-steady with 16 gauge frame and heavy 12

gauge legs. Fire massive loads of ware with the

assurance than the brick bottom is fully sup

ported.

If you move your kiln out of the way when not

in use, order an optional deluxe kiln stand with

steel casters (page 21).

S, SnF & TnF-28-3 Kilns

The large 12-sided 28-3 series kilns are profit

centers of the busy ceramic studio. They eat up

stacks of low-fire ware. At a cost per cubic foot,

the 28-3 Paragon kilns are the most economically

priced standard kilns we make. They are rated to

2150°F, ideal for low-fire ware.

We have upgraded the TnF-28-3 to 48 amps.

With beefier elements, it fires to temperature with

less strain.

Optional AOP Outlet

The AOP outlet is available on all TnF studio

kiln switch boxes. With the AOP you can select

when the Sentry controller turns on a 240 or 208

volt optional Orton Vent Master:

Vent remains on during Pre-Heat, firing, and

Slow Cooling, then turns off at 212°F.

Vent remains on during Pre-Heat and firing,

then turns off during Slow Cooling.

Vent remains off during firing.

Ramp-Hold: Select whether the vent remains

on or off for each segment.

The Easy-to-Load

TnF-27-3 12-Sided Kiln

The TnF-27-3 is easier to load than the

deeper studio kilns. It is only 22 ¼” deep, yet

larger inside than the 29” deep 10-sided 24-series

kilns. Rated to 2350°F, the TnF-27-3 fires porce

lain and stoneware on a 240 volt, 50 amp circuit.

The TnF-27-3 and TnF-28-3 now feature

sectional construction. (See photos above.) Sep

arate the kiln bottom and sections to repair

bricks, change elements, or to move the kiln

down narrow stairwells or through the narrowest

doorways. Twist-lock spring latches hold the as

sembled collars securely.

The TnF-28-3 is a profit center for

the busy studio. Look how much

low-fire greenware it can hold.
