PUSH-TO-CONNECT FITTINGS
• The SharkBite push-to-connect range is made from Lead Free DZR brass
and all products were converted as of October 2012.
• The standard material versions of SharkBite push-to-connect fittings are no longer
in production, but we do continue to oer a small range of 5/8" fittings in standard
material, specifically intended for radiant heating applications. As a running change,
these fittings will be converted to Lead Free in due course.
• Our SharkBite 2XL large Diameter fittings have been Lead Free since
their introduction in February 2011.

PEX/BARB FITTINGS
• Our PEX/barb range is made from Lead Free DZR brass and all
products were converted as of October 2012.
• We have also implemented an extended range of engineered
polymer barb fittings.

As of January 2014 a new Federal law came into eect that introduced a similar
requirement across the whole country.

In this document, products are marked “Lead Free” or “Non-Potable” as applicable.
• “Lead Free” indicates that a product is suitable for use in an application
that is anticipated or intended to deliver water for human consumption.
• “Non-Potable” designates that a product is only suitable for applications
that are not anticipated or intended to deliver water for human consumption.
If a product is not marked “Lead Free” or “Non-Potable” it is either:
• Not designed to come into contact with water (e.g. tools,
crimp rings, pipe hangers), or
• It is a replacement part or component for a valve or piece
of Original Equipment, where it is necessary for the function
of that valve or equipment to use the identical specification
component with which it was originally designed and
certified.
* A device is defined as Lead Free if its wetted surface has
a weighted average lead content not exceeding 0.25%.
