Making a
SharkBite Universal
Connection
Step 1
Cut the desired length of pipe.
• Square cut, perpendicular to length of tubing
Step 3
Mark the pipe using the depth gauge tool
• Use the depth gauge opening that corresponds
to the tubing outside diameter
Step 2
Deburr the end of the pipe to remove any
sharp edges.
• Inspect tubing for damage
• Examine tting to assure that it’s free of debris
Step 4
Push the tubing into the tting.
• Mark from the depth gauge should rest against
edge of release collar
Disconnecting a Fitting
Remove tting with disconnect clips.
• Place the disconnect clip against the end of the tting.
• Push the disconnect clip, compressing the release collar.
• Pull tubing away from tting (slight twist).
Disconnect tongs can also be used.
• These are generally used in areas where there is no room for
the disconnect clip
