Connecting the power cord
Plug the power cord into a 120 V, 60 Hz, grounded AC (3-prong)
outlet.
Caution!
♦ Do not plug the power cord into any other kind of outlet. This will
damage the machine and is not covered under the warranty.
♦ Make sure you have removed the packing tape and stopper and
released the scanner before plugging in the power cord.
Plugging in the power cord without doing so may damage the
machine.
About the POWER key
Please note that the machine power is turned on or off only by plugging in or
unplugging the power cord. The POWER key does not turn the power on or
off; rather, it is used to switch the machine between STAND-BY mode (for
normal operation) and SLEEP: RX ONLY mode (only fax reception can take
place). The POWER key cannot be used until print cartridges have been
installed.
Note:
“CHECK BOTH CART.” normally appears in the display the first
time you plug in the machine. This message appears until you install
the print cartridges.
