Ease of Use
The new Sharp MX
series has an
enlarged touch screen
when compared to its
predecessors. The
touch screen has
some great features
which complement
the hard buttons quite
nicely.
We found the touch
screen to be
responsive with a
clear menu system
that would be easy for
novice/temporary
users to get adjust to
without training.
Customized Walk-up Experience
The initial walk up experience can be
tailored on a user-by-user basis using the
Favorite Operations Group profile as
discussed earlier in the report. This can
reduce wasted user time since all day-to-
day settings are only a single click away.
For this function to be available, the device
has to be set up for user authentication
mode. If Page Limit profiling has been
enabled on the device, the first screen that
users see is a table listing the volume
allowances they have remaining for the
different walk up functions.
Control Panel Functionality
Like other devices in its class, The MX-
3501N control panel features hard buttons
as well as a touch screen. Hard key
functions include Start, Stop, Interrupt,
Number Entry and function selection.
When the Copy key is selected the two
Start keys also turn green letting users
know it is ready to go.
The touch screen is fairly large, measuring
at 8.9” inches corner to corner. The design
and layout take advantage of this larger
screen size quite well. We were impressed
by the clarity and responsiveness of the
touch screen which made job building a
fast and accurate process.
