DK-A10 DK-A10BK System connections Make sure to unplug the AC power cord before any connections. Antenna connection Supplied FM antenna: Connect the FM antenna wire to the FM 75 OHMS jack and position the FM antenna wire in the direction where the strongest signal can be received. Supplied AM loop antenna: Connect the AM loop antenna to the AM and GND terminals. Position the AM loop antenna for optimum reception. Place the AM loop antenna on a shelf, etc.

To change the setting, press the E SOUND/DEMO button repeatedly to toggle ON or OFF.

Listening to a CD or MP3/WMA disc DK-A10 DK-A10BK MP3: MP3 is a form of compression. It is an acronym which stands for MPEG Audio Layer 3. MP3 is a type of audio code which is processed by significant compression from the original audio source with very little loss in sound quality. This system supports MPEG 1 Layer 3, MPEG 2 Layer 3, and VBR files. During VBR file playback, time counter in the display may differ from its actual playback time. Bitrate which is supported by MP3 is 32 ~ 320 kbps.

CD or MP3/WMA disc Playback 1 2 While in the stop mode, press the MEMORY button to enter the programming save mode. MEMORY To cancel the programmed play mode: While in the stop mode and the “MEM” indicator is lit, press the CLEAR button on the remote control. The “MEM” indicator will disappear and all the programmed contents will be cleared.
MP3/WMA folder mode (only for MP3/WMA files) To playback MP3/WMA (Windows Media Audio) file There are many music sites on the internet that you can download MP3/WMA (Windows Media Audio) music files. Follow the instructions from the website on how to download the music files. You can then playback these downloaded music files by burning them to a CD-R/RW disc. Your downloaded song/files are for personal use only. Any other usage of the song without owner’s permission, is against the law.

TUNER button (main unit): The unit turns on and the TUNER function is activated. / button (main unit and remote control): The unit turns on and playback of the last function starts (iPod, CD, TUNER, AUX). Press the ON/STAND-BY button to turn the power on.

(Preset tuning) 1 2 Perform steps 1 - 3 in “Tuning” on page 23. 3 Within 30 seconds, press the or button to select the preset channel number. Store the stations in memory, in order, starting with preset channel 1. 4 Within 30 seconds, press the MEMORY button to store that station in memory.
Alarm and sleep operation DK-A10 DK-A10BK Before setting the alarm: 1 Check that the clock is set to the correct time (refer page 13). If it is not set, you cannot use the alarm function. 2 For iPOD playback: Insert iPod to the unit. 3 For TUNER: Set preset memory. 4 For CD playback: Insert disc to the unit. Setting the alarm content 1 2 Press and hold the ALARM button for more than 2 seconds. Press the or button to select source or buzzer. If TUNER is selected, press the preset station.
DK-A10 DK-A10BK Alarm and sleep operation (continued) Sleep operation The radio and iPod can be turned off automatically. Advanced Features 1 2 Play back the desired sound source. Press the SLEEP button to select sleep time. To confirm the remaining sleep time: 1 While “SLEEP” is indicated, press the SLEEP button once to select “SLEEP XXX”. “XXX” is sleep remaining time. The remaining sleep time is displayed for about 10 seconds.
Enhancing your system DK-A10 DK-A10BK Listening to the playback sounds from VCR, DVD, etc. The connection cord is not included. DK-A10 DK-A10BK Troubleshooting chart Many potential problems can be resolved by the owner without calling a service technician. If something is wrong with this product, check the following before calling your authorized SHARP dealer or service center. General References Symptom The clock is not set to the correct time. When a button is pressed, the unit does not respond. No sound is heard. Possible cause Is the ST switch set to the correct setting? Did a power failure occur? Reset the clock.

While pressing down the SNOOZE/DIMMER button and the E SOUND/DEMO button, press the ON/STAND-BY button until “CLEAR ALL” appears. Before transporting the unit Remove the iPod and the disc from the unit. Then, set the unit to the power stand-by mode.
