Subtitle Selection
1 While a DVD is playing, press SUBTITLE to display the current
language setting, as shown in the example below.
The number of languages recorded differs depending on the
disc.
If no subtitles are recorded on the disc, xx is displayed.
2 Press ' or " (or SUBTITLE) to switch to the next language
recorded on the disc.
You can toggle the setting between “ON” and “OFF” by
pressing \ or |.
About two seconds later, playback continues with the new
subtitle you selected.
If no button is pressed within 10 seconds, playback
continues without changing the current subtitle.

This function can only be used for discs on which subtitles have been
recorded in multiple languages.
Some DVDs are marked “Forced Display”, indicating that the subtitling
cannot be suppressed. With such discs, the subtitles will be displayed
even when you select “ OFF” display. This does not indicate a fault
with your Player.
