BD-ROM Discs also support the highest quality HD video available in the industry (up to 1920 x 1080) - Large capacity means no compromise on video quality. Furthermore, a BD-ROM disc has the same familiar size and look as DVD. The following BD-ROM disc features are disc dependent and will vary.

This unit can play only BD-ROM or DVD discs labeled same as the rear of the unit or “ALL”. For high definition video playback: AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition) • This player can playback AVCHD format discs. These discs are normally recorded and used in camcorders. • The AVCHD format is a high definition digital video camera format.

To solve the problem, turn off the player and then turn it on again. • When the HDMI connection with HDCP is not verified, TV screen is changed to black screen. In this case, check the HDMI connection, or disconnect the HDMI cable.

You can get Audio and Video signals together with this connection. When you use COMPONENT VIDEO OUT connection, you can change the resolution for the output. (Refer to “Resolution setting” on page 20-21.

Disconnect the unit’s mains lead from the mains when connecting the decoder. You do not need to turn on the unit to view the signals from the connected tuner on your TV. Pictures containing copy protection signals that prohibit any copying cannot be recorded.

Connect the unit HDMI OUT jack to the corresponding in jack on your amplifier. Use a HDMI cable (H1). You will need to activate the player’s digital output. (See “[AUDIO] Menu” on page 41.

Resolution Setting • The audio is outputted as PCM 48 kHz/16 bit for MP3/WMA file and PCM 44.1kHz/16 bit for Audio CD while playback. The player provides several output resolutions for HDMI OUT and COMPONENT VIDEO OUT jacks. You can change the resolution using [Setup] menu or pressing the RESOLUTION button in stop mode.

After making the physical connection the player needs to be set up for network communication. This is done from the [Setup] menu — see “[NETWORK] Menu” on page 43 for detailed instructions.

Adjust the language settings [Decoder]: Select this when you connect a PAY-TV or Canal Plus decoder to the AV2(DECODER) jack on the unit. [Others]: Select this when you connect a VCR or similar recording device to the AV2(DECODER) jack on the unit. Power Save mode – Selects whether this unit is in power save mode when the power is turned off.

If a password is not set on this unit, you must set the password in the Disc Setup settings (page 42). If not, Lock System and DTV Rating are not activated. If you do not remember your password, refer to the "If you forget your password" on page 42. Lock System – Allows you to set up specific programs and ratings through blocking schemes.

The unit gives you access to teletext which is greatly improved in various aspects such as text and graphics. This teletext can be accessed by special teletext services and specific services which broadcast teletext.

The recording continues until the media is full, you stop the recording or the progress of recording is more than 12 hours. This unit can be programmed to record up to 16 timer recordings within a month. The clock must be set correctly before setting a timer.

Select a timer recording that you want to cancel on the [Timer Record List] menu and press CLEAR. This feature allows you to pause or rewind live TV, so you do not miss a thing if you were interrupted. Press TIME SHIFT then press PAUSE (X) while watching live broadcast before answering the phone.

ON REMOTE You can create chapters within a title by inserting chapter marks at the desired point. Press MARKER at the desired point while playback. A chapter marker icon appears on the screen.

Select [Sort] option and press ENTER to view the further options. Here you can choose to sort titles according to [Date] (when they were recorded), [Title] (alphabetical order) or by [Category] (sort by genre). When a title is recorded by this unit, the title name will be named by a number or a program title. You can change a title name by using this function.

The password is cleared. Rating Blocks playback of rated disc based on their content. (Not all discs are rated.

Some BD-ROM discs may enable you to access special BD-ROM sites, if you connect the player to the Internet. For example, if a BD-ROM site includes content such as links to future movie trailers, you can watch the downloaded on-line content on the player. You do not need to connect to a PC to use this function.
