SETTING UP
Setup
1 While a disc is stopped, press SETUP to display the Setup screen.
2 Use ' or " to select the “ PARENTAL SETUP”.
3 Press ENTER to display the password
specification screen.
4 Use ', ", \ or | to enter a 4-digit password.
• Press ' or " to select the number.
• Press \ or | to move to the place where you enter the number.
• When you have finished entering your 4-digit number,
(password verification display) appears.
• You must input the correct password to make any changes in the parental level.
Be sure to keep a separate record of your password somewhere for later
reference.
• Some DVDs allow the viewer to temporarily change the parental level setting to
view the original scenes. When this prompt appears, input the password to view
the original scenes.
5 Make sure is displayed and then re-enter the numbers you
entered in step 4 using ', ", \ or |.
• When entering numbers,
changes to digit by digit. Make sure all
digits are changed to
before performing step 6.
• If you enter the wrong number three times in succession, the normal
screen reappears.
If you forget your password, you can erase your current password by
pressing
(F.ADV) four times.
6 After the screen on the right appears, use
\ or | to change the parental level.
• Level 1: for most restrictive viewing →
Level 8: for adult viewing
(The smaller the number, the greater the
level of restriction.)
• When the parental level is set to “OFF”,
DVDs can be played back regardless of
the parental level.
