2 To cancel still picture and return to normal
play, press û (PLAY).
• You may not be able to use still picture and frame advance with some discs.
• Frame advance cannot be used with Audio CDs.
• This operation performs the Audio CD PAUSE function.

Fast forward/Fast reverse
1 Press è (FWD) or È (REV) while a disc is
playing.
• The disc begins fast scan at ×2 speed (1).
• Three speeds are available. Each time è (FWD) or È (REV) is
pressed, the speed of fast scan changes in the following sequence:
1 (about ×2) 2 (about ×8) 3 (about ×32)
• You can also operate this function by holding down à (SKIP) or
À (SKIP) on the Player for two or more seconds. The speed of fast scan
using the Player’s à (SKIP) or À (SKIP) is only 2 (about ×8).
2 Press û (PLAY) to return to normal playback.
• On some discs, the fast scan function is disabled.
• On DVD video discs and VIDEO CDs, audio and subtitles are not played back
during the fast scan playback.
• With a DVD video disc, you cannot search past a title. Playback starts from the
beginning of the title.
• With a VIDEO CD and Audio CD, the search speed toggles between 1 (about ×2)
and 2 (about ×8) when you press è (FWD) or È (REV).
