Basic Operations

The flash modes that can be selected differ depending on the capture
mode.

Press the four-way controller (4) in standby mode.
The Flash Mode setting screen appears.
The flash modes that can be selected for the set capture mode appear.

Use the four-way controller (45)
to select a flash mode, and press
the 4 button.
The camera is ready to take a picture.

The flash does not discharge in the following capture modes:
- p, a, or C mode
- K (Sunset) or d (Blue Sky) of n mode
- K (Sunset), d (Blue Sky), A (Night Scene), Z (Night Scene HDR), y
(Backlight Silhouette), U (Candlelight), n (Stage Lighting) or E (Museum)
of H mode
A red E blinks while the built-in flash is charging.
