Please read before operating your new Air Purifier The air purifier draws in room air via its air intake, letting the air pass through an Active Carbon Filter (deodorisation filter) and a HEPA Filter (dust collection filter) inside the unit, then discharges the air from its air outlet. The air purifier unit repeats this process continuously when its internal fan is working. As air passes through the HEPA filter it removes 99.97% of dust particles (as small as 0.3 microns).
ENGLISH "Plasmacluster" technology Plasmacluster technology uses plasma discharge to produce and release the same positive and negative ions as those found in nature ("Plasmacluster ions"). This is a unique air cleaning technology of the SHARP CORPORATION for breaking down and inactivating such potential allergens as the faecal matter or corpses of aerial mites*1, viruses* 2 and mould and bacteria* 3 suspended in the air, and has been substantiated by third-party organisations both in Japan and overseas.
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should be followed, including the following: WARNING - To reduce the risk of electrical shock, fire or injury to persons: • Read all instructions before using the unit. • Use only a 220-240 volt outlet. • Do not use the unit if the power cord or plug is damaged or the connection to the wall outlet is loosened. • Periodically remove dust from the power plug.

The unit may not operate properly. • Avoid locations where curtains, etc., come into contact with the air intake or outlet. Curtains, etc., may become dirty or a unitl malfunction may occur.

PREPARATION Be sure to remove the power plug from the wall outlet. FILTER INSTALLATION To maintain the quality of the filters, they are installed in the main unit and packed in plastic bags. Be sure to remove the filters from the plastic bags before using the unit. 1 Front Panel Remove the filters 1 Remove the Front Panel. Pull the bottom of the Front Panel. 2 Remove the Filter Support. Pinch the two tabs and lift to remove. Up side Tabs Tabs the Active Carbon 3 Remove Filter and HEPA Filter.
22 Install the filters Tab the HEPA Filter 1 Place within the main unit with HEPA Filter the tabs facing up. Do not install the filter backwards or the unit will not operate properly. Tabs Make sure that the tab of the HEPA Filter remains visible. Tabs ENGLISH 2 Place the Active Carbon Filter on top of the HEPA Filter. Active Carbon Filter the bottom side tabs of the Filter Support 3 Insert into the associated holes of the main unit. Next push the upside tabs into the main unit.

Clean Green Slightly Impure Orange Very Impure Red ABOUT THE CLEAN-SIGN •The condition of the CLEAN-SIGN depends on the room air condition detected by the Odour Sensor when the plug is inserted into the wall outlet. •It is possible to have a green CLEAN SIGN if there are impurities in the air when the product is first turned on.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE To maintain optimum performance of this air purifier, please clean the unit including the sensor and filters periodically. When cleaning the unit, be sure to unplug the power cord, and never handle the plug with wet hands. Electrical shock and/or bodily injury may occur as a result. MAIN UNIT Care Cycle 1 month To prevent dirt or stains on the main unit, clean as often as necessary. If stains are allowed to remain, they may become hard to clean.

Clean the filter as offen as necessary when odour persists. Dry filter completely in a well ventilated a large container with 5 area. CARE AND MAINTENANCE FILTER REPLACEMENT GUIDELINES Depending on the usage environment, air outlet odour may become strong after several months. If dust or odour cannot be removed easily, replace the filters.
TROUBLESHOOTING Before calling for repair, please review the list below, since the problem may not be a unit malfunction. REMEDY (not a malfunction) Odours and smoke are not removed. • Clean or replace the filters if they appear to be heavily soiled. (Refer to E-11,E-12) The CLEAN-SIGN Light shows green even when the air is impure. • The air could be impure at the time the unit was plugged in. (Refer to E-9) Pull out the plug from the electrical outlet, and insert the plug one minute later.
