1. Installation
Replacing the batteries
Hold down on the cordless
handset until “POWER OFF” appears in
the display. Press on the indentation on
the back of the handset to remove the
battery cover.
Install the new batteries as explained in
the previous section.
Important!
Use only the following batteries:
Certified rechargeable AAA batteries,
NiMH 1.2 V, 550 mAh
Using any other type of battery may
damage the cordless handset. Never
use non-rechargeable batteries.
Please purchase the above batteries at
any store that carries rechargeable
batteries.
Caution:
Danger of explosion if batteries are
incorrectly replaced. Replace only with
the above batteries. Dispose of used
batteries according to the instructions
below.
Battery disposal
The batteries are Nickel Metal Hydride
batteries. The batteries must be
disposed of properly. Contact local
agencies for information on recycling
and disposal plans in your area.
Wiping the charger contacts
To ensure that the batteries charge
properly, wipe the charger contacts
once a month with a cotton swab.
Additional cordless handsets
You can use up to 4 additional UX-
K12 cordless handsets with the
machine. Additional UX-K12 cordless
handsets can be purchased at your
dealer or retailer. For information on
setting up an additional cordless
handset for use with the machine, see
the manual that accompanies the UX-
K12 cordless handset.
