Before Using the Handset
1 Incoming/Charging lamp
Lamp to be illuminated/flashed differs
according to the function being used and
situation.

3 Display/Touch panel
The display for the FOMA terminal is
manufactured using high-precision
technology, but it may occasionally contain
dots that fail to light or that remain
permanently lit. This is not a malfunction.
4 Mouthpiece/Microphone

6 Proximity sensor/Brightness sensor
Proximity sensor detects the distance to face
and prevents a false operation of touch panel
during a call.
Brightness sensor detects brightness of the
surrounding area and adjusts the brightness
of backlight.
Do not cover the sensor area with your hand,
paste a sticker on the sensor area, etc. The
sensor may not work properly.
7 z: Menu key
Displays available functions (menus) in a
screen.
8 |: Home key
Displays the main page of the home screen.
9 {: Back key
Returns to the previous screen.
a Speaker
Ring tone, music, etc. can be heard from
here.
Voice of the other party can be heard from
here during a hands-free call.
b a mark
IC card is contained (It cannot be removed).
c H: Power key
Use to set/disable the sleep mode, turn the
power on/off, etc.
d x/y: Volume UP/DOWN key
Adjusts the volume in each function.
e }: Search key
Displays the quick search box.

When attaching a strap, remove the back
cover, put the strap through the strap hole, put
it on the hook inside and attach the back
cover.

* The antenna is built in the main body. Covering
the antenna area with your hand may influence
the quality.
Menu key, Home key, Back key
When you press keys, press the parts marked by
red rectangles in the following illustration. If you
press edges of the keys, you may not be able to
operate.
