◎ When entering characters, in the standby screen, navigate

[Settings] → [Other settings] → [Soft keyboard] and check that
“S-Shoin” is selected in “Keyboard & input methods”. The
Android keyboard (AOSP) does not support Japanese entry and
it may not be possible to enter characters.
