WHITENING FAINT COLOURS IN COPIES (Suppress
Background)
This feature is used to suppress light background areas.

Place the original.
Place the original face up in the document feeder tray, or face down on the document glass.

Select the special modes.
(1) Touch the [Special Modes] key.
(2) Touch the keys to switch through the screens.
(3) Touch the [Colour Adjustments] key.
(4) Touch the [Suppress Background] key.

Select the suppress background setting.
(1) Adjust the background suppression level.
Touch the [+] key to suppress only faint background.
Touch the [-] key to suppress faint to dark background.
(2) Touch the [OK] key.
You will return to the special modes screen. Touch the
[OK] key to return to the base screen of copy mode.
Light areas are
suppressed.

The lightness level at which
suppression takes place
can be adjusted.
