Starring or unstarring a location
You can star a location on a map, to bookmark places and be able to nd them quickly later.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps > Maps.
2. While viewing detail information for a location,

to star the location.

to unstar the location.
Viewing starred places
Once you star a place, you can easily nd it again on the phone or the web.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps > Maps.

Starred places will visible on the map in default settings.

Press
Menu > Starred Places.
3. Tap a starred location on the map or in the list to see more information.
Viewing a location in Street View
Street View mode provides a street-level view of the location. You can navigate, zoom in to, and so on. Street View isn’t
available for all areas.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps > Maps.
2. While viewing detail information for a location, tap

To view surrounding areas, swipe to any direction on the screen.

To zoom in or out, tap

To step forward or backward, drag
Pegman to highlight where you want to go with a lightly shaded circle on roads,
then drop it.

To view a building in detail, drag
Pegman to highlight where you want to view with a lightly shaded rectangle on a
building, then drop it.
Searching for a location
You can search for a location, such as an address or a type of business or establishment.
1. From the Home screen, tap
Apps > Maps.
2. Tap the Search Maps eld on top of the screen.
3. Enter the place you want to search. As you enter the location to look for, suggested matches from your contacts, the web,
and previously searched items are displayed.

to search for the location you entered.

Tap a suggested search item.
4. The search results are displayed as
markers with letter labels on the map.

Tap a
marker > Tap its balloon to see more information.
