4.5 SIM Card
Attention!
The SIM card may only installed and replaced outside of the hazardous area!
GSM phone service requires a SIM card (Subscriber Identification Module) or smart card.
Obtain the card from your service provider. The card fits into the MC 9596
ex
-NI and can
contain the following information:
Mobile phone service provider account details.
Information regarding service access and references.
Any additional services to which you have described.
4.5.1 Inserting the SIM card

For more information about SIM cards, refer to the service provider’s documentation.
To install the SIM card:
(1) If the MC 9596
ex
-NI is in suspend mode, press the red Power button to wake the
device.
(2) Press the red Power button to suspend the MC 9596
ex
-NI.
(3) Wait for red Decode LED to turn on and then turn off.
(4) Unhook the handstrap.
(5) Remove the battery.
(6) Remove SIM card cover using the end of the stylus.

(7) Slide the SIM card holder door to the left to unlock.
(8) Lift the SIM card holder door.
