Allow at least 2 inches on the sides, top and at the rear of the oven for air circulation. Do not place or install the oven in any area where heat and steam are generated; for example, next to or above a conventional gas or electric range or above a conventional wall oven.
I N F O R M AT I O N Y O U N E E D T O K N O W ABOUT YOUR OVEN When using the oven at power levels below 100%, you may hear the magnetron cycling on and off. It is normal for the exterior of the oven to be warm to the touch when cooking or reheating. This Operation Manual is valuable: read it carefully and always save it for reference. A good microwave cookbook is a valuable asset. Check it for microwave cooking principles, techniques, hints and recipes.
INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT UTENSILS AND COVERINGS The following coverings are ideal: It is not necessary to buy all new cookware. Many pieces already in your kitchen can be used successfully in your new microwave oven. Make sure the utensil does not touch the interior walls during cooking. • Paper towels are good for covering foods for reheating and absorbing fat while cooking bacon. • Wax paper can be used for cooking and reheating.
INFORMATION YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT MICROWAVE COOKING • Arrange food carefully. Place thickest areas towards outside of dish. • Rearrange foods such as meatballs halfway through cooking both from top to bottom and from the center of the dish to the outside. • Watch cooking time. Cook for the shortest amount of time indicated and add more as needed. Food severely overcooked can smoke or ignite. • Add standing time. Remove food from oven and stir, if possible.

Erase if you make a mistake during programming. 2. Cancel timer. 3. Stop the oven temporarily during cooking. 4. Return the time of day to the display. 5. Cancel a program during cooking, touch twice. • Before the oven can be used, follow these procedures: 1. Plug in the oven.
M A N U A L O P E R AT I O N TO SET POWER LEVEL MANUAL DEFROST There are eleven preset power levels. Using lower power levels increases the cooking time which is recommended for foods such as cheese, milk and long slow cooking of meats. Consult cookbook or recipes for specific recommendations. If the food that you wish to defrost is not listed on the DEFROST CHART or is above or below the limits in the Amount column on the DEFROST CHART (see page 14), you need to defrost manually.
S P E C I A L F E AT U R E S POPCORN The POPCORN setting automatically provides the correct cooking time for most brands of microwave popcorn. You may wish to try several and choose your favorite. Pop only one bag at a time. Unfold bag and place in oven according to directions. • Touch POPCORN once for 3.5 oz bag (Regular). • Touch POPCORN twice within 2 seconds for 2.85 3.5 oz bag (Regular Light). • Touch POPCORN three times within 3 seconds for 1.2 or 1.6 oz bag (Mini). • Suppose you want to pop a 3.

Place patties on a microwave-safe rack and cover with wax paper. Place ground meat in a casserole and cover with wax paper or plastic wrap. When oven stops, turn patties over or stir meat in casserole to break up large pieces. Re-cover and touch START/MINUTE PLUS.
SPECIAL FEATURES REHEAT 3 REHEAT automatically computes the correct heating time and microwave power level for foods shown in the chart below. PROCEDURE 4 REHEAT FOOD 2 Select desired REHEAT setting. Fresh Rolls/ Muffins 1-8 Use this setting to warm rolls, muffins, biscuits, bagels etc. Large items should be considered as 2 or 3 regular size. Arrange on plate; cover with paper towel. For refrigerated rolls or muffins, it may be necessary to double the entered amount to ensure the proper serving temperature. For example, enter quantity of 2 for 1 refrigerated muffin. 7.

O T H E R C O N V E N I E N T F E AT U R E S MULTIPLE SEQUENCE COOKING MORE OR LESS TIME ADJUSTMENT Your oven can be programmed for up to 3 automatic cooking sequences, switching from one power level setting to another automatically. Should you discover that you like any of the COOK, POPCORN, SHORT CUTS, REHEAT or DEFROST settings slightly more done, touch the POWER LEVEL pad once after touching your choice of pads or before touching START/MINUTE PLUS pad. The display will show MORE .
OTHER CONVENIENT FEATURES CHILD LOCK DEMONSTRATION MODE The Child Lock prevents unwanted oven operation such as by small children. To demonstrate, touch TIMER/CLOCK, the number 0 and then touch the START/MINUTE PLUS pad and hold for three seconds. DEMO will appear in the display. Cooking operations and specific special features can now be demonstrated with no power in the oven. For example, touch START/MINUTE PLUS pad and the display will show 1:00 and count down quickly to End .
CLEANING AND CARE Disconnect the power cord before cleaning or leave the door open to inactivate the oven during cleaning. Exterior Waveguide Cover The outside surface is painted. Clean the outside with mild soap and water; rinse and dry with a soft cloth. Do not use any type of household or abrasive cleaner. The waveguide cover is made from mica so requires special care. Keep the waveguide cover clean to assure good oven performance.
SERVICE CALL CHECK Please check the following before calling for service: Place one cup of water in a glass measuring cup in the oven and close the door securely.
