STEP 1
IftheoldsignalprocessorboardhasnotbeenremovedfromtheLPUfollow
theremovalprocedureoutlinedinSection5.9.14onpa

STEP 2 RemoveACmainspowerfromtheLPUbeingrepaired.
Note
Removal of the ribbon cables that attach to Control A and Control B connectors on the rear of the LPU
will cause the safety interlock to open and take the transmitter off-air. The removed LPU can be bypassed
by connecting the Control A and Control B ribbon cables together with a jumper cable Harris part no.
952-9248-072. Connecting the cables together with this cable will close the interlock chain and allow
continued operation on the active LPU. The same cable can be used to bypass a removed PAB chassis.
STEP 3 IftheLPUisinstalledinarack,removeitandplaceitonabench.
STEP 4 Usea#2Phillipsscrewdrivertoremovethe(6)topcoverscrews.
STEP 5 Ifthereplacementsignalprocessorboarddoesnotcontainamicromodule,
onemustbeinstalled.Installanewmicromoduleorusetheonefromthe
boardthatwasremovedfromthebadsignalprocessorboard.Placethe
micromoduleintothereplacementboardandcarefullyfastenitinplace.
STEP 6 Placethesignalprocessorboardintopositionandbesuretheconnectorson
therearoftheboardslidethroughtherearoftheLPUchassis.
STEP 7 Usea#1Phillipsscrewdrivertoinstallthethreescrewsthatholdthefrontof
thesignalprocessorboardtothechassis.
STEP 8 UseanM6nutdrivertoinstallthesixexpansionboardstandoffstuds.
STEP 9 Usea#1Phillipsscrewdrivertoinstallthetwoscrewsthatholdtheanalog,
ETI,satellitereceiver,ASIoverIPadapterorblankpanelsthatmaybe
installedintherearoftheLPUchassis.
STEP 10 Usea#1PhillipsscrewdrivertoinstallthetwoscrewsthatholdintheUser
RemoteandTxInterfaceconnectorsontherearoftheLPU.
STEP 11 Usea3/16"nutdrivertoinstallthescrewlockfittingsontheRS232andCAN
connectorsontherearoftheLPU.
STEP 12 Usea9/16"wrenchtoinstallthenutsonthe1PPS,10MHz,&TSLoop
connectorsontherearoftheLPU.
STEP 13 InstalltheOSXRFcablesonconnectorsJ2,J3,J15,J26,&J27attherearof
thesignalprocessorboard.Thesecableconnectorscanbepressedontothe
boardconnectors.
STEP 14 InstalltheOSXRFcablesonconnectorsJ13,J14,J15,J16,J17,&J19nearthe
frontofthesignalprocessorboard.Thesecableconnectorscanbepressed
ontotheboardconnectors.
STEP 15 InstalltheribboncableonJ18andtheRJ45cableonJ20atthefrontofthe
signalprocessorboard.
STEP 16 InstallthreeribboncablesthatconnecttoJ23,J24&J25onthesidesand
frontofthesignalprocessorboard.
