Note
On reassembly the wire needs to be replaced and the two leads must not touch any component on the
board other than the two points where they are soldered. The pallet board should be placed over the post
and tightened down before soldering the wire to the post.
STEP 11 RemovethePhillipsscrewthatholdstheoutputcoaxinplace.Takenoteof
thepositionofthecoax.Whenreinstalleditmustnottouchanycomponents
ontheboard.Itshouldonlycontacttheboardatthepointwhereitis
soldered.
Note
Do not place upward or side pressure on the coax inner conductor as this might pull the solder pad off the
board.
STEP 12 Desolderthecoaxialinnerconductorfromthepallet.
STEP 13 Removefour(4)centerpalletholddownscrews(metricAllenhead).These
fourscrewsmustbetorquedto30in.lbs.uponreplacement.
STEP 14 Removefive(5)additionalpalletholddownscrews(Phillipshead).
STEP 15 Removepalletandcleanupheattransfercompound.
Note
Removal of the pallet may be difficult due to the presence of the heat transfer compound under the pallet
board. Insert a flat blade screwdriver beneath the aluminum edge of the pallet assembly where it meets the
aluminum back plane assembly. Use the screwdriver to gently pry upward without placing stress on adja
-
cent components. Repeat this process along the edges o
f the board in several places until it loosens up.
Take care not to scratch up the pallet or the back plane assembly. The pallet should be lifted straight up off
the back plane assembly to avoid damaging the connector that connects the pallet and the back plane
assembly.

ReadnotesbelowandfollowtheremainingstepstoinstallthenewPA
pallet.

Module Reassembly Reminders:
Ifpossibleusenewfastenerswhenreassemblingmodule.
Avoiduseofexcessiveheatwhichmaydamagecomponentsorboards.
Allleadsandpadsshouldbetinnedpriortosoldering.
Newjumperribbonsshouldbeusedatthethreeinputconnections.
Installallfastenersineachsubassemblypriortotighteningthem.
TheHOTWarninglabelontopcoverplateshouldbeupandpositionedtowardthehandle.

BE PROPERLY DISPOSED OF. FOLLOW ALL APPLICABLE LAWS FOR
DISPOSAL OF HAZARDOUS MATERIAL.
STEP 17 Reapplyheattransfercompound.Useasmallroller(inkroller)orflatedgeof
flexibleplasticcardtoapplyeven,thincoat.
