Handset Settings

You can check the available space on a microSD Card, the
handset, etc., manage files, etc.

In the home screen, [R]/[Settings]/[Storage]

Mount microSD/Unmount microSD: Mount/Unmount the
microSD Card.
Erase microSD: Format the microSD Card.
Encrypt microSD/Release microSD encryption: Encrypt/
Decrypt the microSD Card.
Unmount USB memory: Unmount the USB memory.
File Management: Manage data saved on the USB memory
etc.
USB connection
You can change the settings for connecting the handset to a PC
using Micro USB Cable 01 (sold separately).

Select an item
MTP mode: This is a mode for transferring data to the handset
memory or a microSD Card using a PC compatible with MTP.
PTP mode: This is a mode for transferring still pictures to the
handset memory using a PC compatible with PTP.
Card reader mode: This is a mode for using a microSD Card
inserted into the handset as an external memory for a PC.
Tethering settings: Make settings for the tethering. For details
nP.24 "Tethering"
Continuation of last connection mode: Set whether to
continue to use the previous connection mode.
You can make settings for エモパー (Japanese only) (emopa
(Japanese only)), Clip Now, Grip magic, On/off with motion,
View with flip cover or Recent apps key, or perform Self check.

View with flip cover: Set whether to display the screen for the
small window when the handset is equipped with a flip cover
which is equipped with a small window.
Recent apps key: Set a function to use when you touch [}].

Self check: For details nP.69 "Self check"
emopa
Based on your information and settings of emopa registered in
advance, the handset delivers various information through
voice or screen display in the lock screen of the touch panel.
emopa responds by its voice or screen display if you answer
emopa's voice with your voice.
Also, when you tell emopa the content what you want to take a
memo such as a schedule, emopa memorizes and delivers it
according to the schedule (emopa memo).
The handset will get to deliver information at better timing by
learning the usage conditions of your handset.
Packet communication charges are incurred when you use
emopa.
The present location may be measured so that emopa can
recognize your home, information of nearby facilities, etc. It is
necessary to set [Location] to On to measure the present location.
Set Mode of Location services to [High accuracy]. If [Location] is
set to Off or Mode is set to [Battery saving], emopa cannot deliver
information requiring measurement of the present location
(nP.70 "Location").

: If the initial settings are not completed, the initial settings
screen appears. Follow the instructions on the screen and
operate.
: It is recommended to make settings for 職場・学校
(Workplace and school) by [あなたについ] (About you)
after completing the initial settings.
: If the initial settings are completed, the emopa screen is
displayed. You can check the state of emopa and your
information.
Storage
[Unmount microSD]
Unmount the microSD Card before removing it.
[Erase microSD]
Note that all the data on the microSD Card will be deleted when
formatted.
[Encrypt microSD], [Release microSD encryption]
Carry out the operations while charging the battery with its
battery level still left sufficiently.
Set Screen lock to Pattern, Lock No. or Password in advance
(nP.70 "Lock & security").
When the available space on the microSD Card is insufficient,
encryption/decryption is not available.
Data on the encrypted microSD Card is not available in devices
other than the handset used for encrypting it.
You can use the microSD Card that has been encrypted as
usual by decrypting it.
Note that when you have carried out Reset all with microSD
Card encrypted, you cannot use the data on the microSD Card.
Release the encryption before carrying out Reset all.
If you insert a microSD Card into the handset that has been
used for encrypting another microSD Card, the handset can
only read data on it.
The handset can write data into the read-only microSD Card
after encrypting the microSD Card.
Encrypting/Decrypting a microSD Card may take time. Do not
stop charging the battery or do not remove the microSD Card
while it is being encrypted. Data on it may be lost if the
encryption is interrupted.
[Unmount USB memory]
Unmount the USB memory before removing it.
When you transfer a great deal of data, the transference may be
interrupted. In this case, split the data into several files and send
them separately.
