display the time code.
Note: If “TC” does not appear, press the
MEMORY button (B) until “TC” is displayed.
Using the Time Code
The time code shows the hour, minute and
second of recording, and the frame number
(1 frame = approx. 1/25 sec.). This is automat-
ically recorded along with the subject. You can
display the time code on the screen as an
accurate counter in both VCR and Camera
modes.

When images are played back in Still or
Frame Advance mode (see pages 22 and
42), the frame number is displayed for each
frame.

To turn off the time code
Press the TIME CODE button on the
screen.
Notes:
• When the tape reaches an unrecorded section,
the time code returns to zero (TC0:00:00). Once
recorded, the time code cannot be changed.
• You can also turn on and off the time code by
pressing the TIME CODE DISPLAY button on the
remote control.
Displaying the Time Code on a TV
During Playback
1 In VCR mode, display the menu screen
(see page 25).
2 Toggle the CONTROL switch (Q) to
select “TC OUT”, then press the
CONTROL switch (W) to select “ON”.
