Manual Iris
The VIEWCAM is preset to Auto Iris mode,
which automatically chooses the optimal
aperture. When there is too much contrast in
brightness between the subject and
background, however, you may not be able to
record a clear image. In this case, use the
manual iris function to correct the iris value.
Background is too bright and subject too dark
(backlit subject).
• Select a larger iris value to allow more light
through the lens.
Subject is too bright against background.
• Select a smaller iris value to allow less light
through the lens.
1 In Recording Standby mode, press the
CONTROL switch until
appears.
2 Press the MANUAL button (A) to
display the manual setting screen.
3 Toggle the CONTROL switch (Q) to
select “IRIS”, then press the CONTROL
switch (W).
4 Toggle the CONTROL switch to select
the desired iris value.
The bar indicates the selected iris value.

5 Press the CONTROL switch to set the
iris value.
6 Press the EXIT button (MODE DISPLAY)
to turn off the manual setting screen.
To cancel Manual Iris mode
Select the centre setting in step 4 above.
Note:
Manual Iris mode will be cancelled if the
Scene Menu is set thereafter.
