Gamma Brightness
Compensation
When the subject is backlit, the image will be
darkened if it is recorded normally. The gamma
brightness compensation function improves the
picture by increasing the brightness of the
subject while leaving the brighter portions of
the image unaffected.

Press the MENU button until E
appears (Camera mode).
Press the GAMA EFR button ( • ) once.
• "GAMMA" appears, indicating that the
Gamma Brightness Compensation is
now working.
GAMA
EFF.
To obtain a brighter picture
Press tile GAMA EFR button ( • ) again.
• The [] indicator appears.

Note:
• When the [] indicator is displayed, the
background will become slightly brighter.
To cancel Gamma Brightness
Compensation
Press the GAMA EFR button until "GAMMA"
disappears.
Note:
• The gamma brightness compensation function
can also be used during playback. See page 48,
"Gamma Playback".
