Wide Screen

(1 O-second Recording)
This feature allows you to record scenes with
the wide-screen feel of a movie shown in a
theatre. The top and bottom of the picture are
masked with black bands to produce an
effective screen aspect ratio of 16:9.

Setting the Wide Screen Mode

to Wide Screen mode.
Press the MODE DISPLAY button to
turn off the button indicators.
The monitor now displays the picture
with the top and bottom portions
masked.

To return to the normal picture, set the “16:9”
menu item to “OFF” in step 2 above.
While sightseeing during a vacation, or when
touring places on a field trip, you can easily
record a scene for ten seconds as if you were
taking a picture with a camera. The screen
fades out automatically.

While in Recording Standby mode,

Press the “IO set REC” button (m).
Recording begins, and the recording
indicator (a ) ) JJ >>) and remaining time
bar display appear on the monitor.

As time passes,
the bar display
diminishes in
length from right
to left.
At the end of recording, “FADE OUT” is
displayed, and the screen fades out. The
“0 ) ) ) ) )” indicator changes to “I I-- - - -”
and recording stops. The VIEWCAM
returns to Recording Standby mode.
Note:
. If you wish to discontinue recording before it
automatically stops, press the REC STOP button
(w). “FADE OUT” appears on the monitor screen,
the screen turns white, then recording stops. The
VIEWCAM returns to Recording Standby mode.
