Available modes:
TAPE=CAMERA, CARD=CAMERA
When you are recording in a dark or poorly
illuminated location, "LIGHT" is displayed on
the screen. Use the gain-up function to record
a brighter picture.
Note:
o At locations where lighting is adequate, "LIGHT"
will not appear. The gain=up function cannot be
used in this case.
GAMMA/BRIGHTER
button
In TAPE-CAMERA or CARD-CAMERA mode,
press the GAMMA/BRIGHTER button once.
- "GAMMA" appears, indicating that the gain-
up function is now working.

To obtain a brighter picture
Press the GAMMA/BRIGHTER button again.
The _]_[Y indicator appears.

To cancel the gain-up function
Press the GAMMA/BRIGHTER button until
"GAMMA" disappears.
Notes:
e You may experience some picture noise in Gain-
up mode, which increases when the 'q[X[/
displays.
o When the _ indicator displays, you may get
a shadow image behind a subject that is moving
around a lot.
o Fine brightness adjustments are possible when
using manual exposure (see page 43).

bright location.
