Warranty Guide
Warranty service is limited to stains caused by most common food
and beverage substances. Foods and beverages that contain strongly
colored natural dyes (e.g., mustard, coffee, or herbal tea) are not
covered by this warranty. This is not a cleaning contract and
specifically excludes discoloration due to general soiling.
The obligation of Lowe’s under this limited stain warranty shall be
limited to coordinating stain removal service, and if the stain cannot
be removed, coordinating carpet replacement. This limited stain
warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may have other
rights which vary from state to state.
Limited Abrasive Wear Warranty
If within the warranted period, the surface pile of your Lowe’s
carpet, when compared to non-traffic areas, loses more than 10% of
its weight, Lowe's will coordinate replacement of your carpet with
carpet of comparable cost for the affected area only (the worn and
adjacent areas extending to the nearest wall, doorway, or entrance)
per the General Terms and Conditions stated in this warranty
booklet. The weight loss is measured by comparison to non-traffic
areas. If replacement is authorized, you will be responsible for paying
for cushion, labor and disposal costs for carpet. All replacements
must be completed within six months of the first report of the
problem to the appropriate manufacturer. Disposal of original
carpet is required.
The replacement carpet is not covered under this agreement.
Abrasive wear means fiber loss from the carpet through normal
abrasion, not from crushing or flattening of the carpet pile in any
area, or from staining, soiling, fading, or other changes in carpet
appearance. Carpets installed outdoors, on stairs, in bathrooms,
kitchens, or in areas subject to other than normal foot traffic are
not covered by this warranty. Specifically excluded from this
warranty is damage caused by tears, pulls, piling, burns, improper
installation, inadequate cushion, improper cleaning, furniture, wheels,
or athletic equipment.
Limited Texture Retention Warranty
For the term of your warranty, your Lowe’s carpet, under normal use,
will retain its texture without the tufts losing twist from ordinary
foot traffic.Texture retention is the ability of the carpet tufts to retain
their visible shape, as measured by the degree of bursting, opening, or
untwisting of the tufts at the surface of the carpet.Texture retention
is measured against ISO 9405-1990 standardized rating scales ranging
from 5.0 (new or no change) to 1.0 (severe change).
