Activate and toss a Chimfex™ Dry Chemical Chimney Fire Extinguisher into the rebox.
• Close the ash door, fuel door and slide cover on the draft motor.
Alert entire household and prepare to evacuate if necessary.
• Call your local re department.
Power Failure:
In case of power failure, to prevent your Shelter Furnace from over-heating and causing damage to the electrical components, do NOT
add more fuel to the rebox.
There is no warranty on electrical components damaged due to power failure.
NOTE: OVER-FIRING OR DELIBERATE ABUSE CAN EASILY BE DETERMINED UPON INSPECTION AND WILL VOID THE
WARRANTY.
This wood heater has a manufacturer-set minimum low burn rate that must not be altered. It is against federal regulations to alter this
setting or otherwise operate this wood heater in a manner inconsistent with operating instructions in this manual.
Always keep your wood covered year round. Dry wood will produce a higher BTU output and a longer burn time. Refer to the
nameplate on furnace for additional information.
WARNING: RISK OF FIRE
• Do not operate with the ue draft exceeding .08 water column inches (19.9 Pa).
• Do not operate with fuel loading or ash removal doors open.
• Do not store fuel or other combustible material within marked installation clearances.
• Inspect and clean ues and chimney regularly.
• Door seals should be checked annually to make sure that a good seal will ensure complete combustion and high efciency.
