•Press and hold down the Power key to turn the unit on. When the power is on, the

left LED will turn orange and then green.

•Press and hold the Power key to turn on power saving mode. Release after the

"Power save" announcement. Keep pressing and holding another few seconds until

the "Power off" announcement in order to turn the power off.

Note: When PLEXTALK is in the power saving mode, PLEXTALK resumes by pressing

any key. Then time will be announced.

Note: When PLEXTALK is in the power saving mode, battery drainage is reduced.

Note: The booting up process should take approximately 40 seconds after turning the

power off or after the battery has been replaced.

Note: When you turn off the power, if you do not hold the key down long enough, the

Sleep Timer will be activated.

Note: If Key Lock switch is on, the Power key will not function.

2.8. Key Describer function

As its name implies, the Key Describer function allows the user to get a description of any

key on the PLEXTALK.

•Turn on the Key Describer by pressing and holding down the Menu key for around 5

seconds. Now press any key on the unit and a description of its function will be

spoken.

•Turn off the Key Describer function by pressing and holding down the Menu key for

around 5 seconds.

2.9. Key Lock function

Key Lock can be used to lock the keys and controls so that they can't be accidentally

operated.

•To apply the lock, push the Key Lock switch towards the top of the unit.

•To unlock the PLEXTALK, pull the Key Lock switch towards the bottom of the unit.
