16. Backup
16.1. General backup information
Before backing up any data, the following points should be noted:
•When backing up data from a media to another media, the former is called "source
media" and the latter is called "target media."
•You can backup a variety of data from SD card to external USB media, or vice versa.
However, an external USB CD/DVD drive can only be used as a source for backup
purposes.
•In the back up process, PLEXTALK gives a verbal warning if there is insufficient
space available on the target media.
•If you backup from a Music CD using an external USB CD/DVD drive, you can
choose the audio compression to be used. It will be backed up as Audio Files and not
in DAISY format.
•When the battery level is low, the backup process may be aborted. Therefore, it is
recommended that you connect to a mains power source before backup.
•If you wish to cancel the backup process whilst it is running, press the Cancel key.
•Podcast episodes and Web radio cannot be backed up.
•Data will be backed up into these folders:
DAISY: "PlexBackup" folder
Recordings: "PlexBackup" folder
Music: "PlexBackup" folder
Text: "PlexBackup" folder
".aa" Audio book: "Backup" folder under the "Audible" folder
Other Audio book: "Backup" folder under the "PlexAudioBook" folder
16.2. Back up Voice Memos
This section details how to backup all Voice Memos from the internal memory to SD card.
•Insert an SD card with sufficient free space.
•Press the Title key to Navigate to Voice Memo and press the Enter key.
•Press the Number 9 key once to access the Backup feature.
•PLEXTALK will ask you to confirm that you wish to continue with the backup. Press
the Enter key to continue or the Cancel key to abort.
•If you choose to continue, the backup process will start. PLEXTALK will announce
when the backup is complete.
