Mixing fuel Examples of 50:1 mixing quantities CAUTION Never use any type of gasoline containing more than 10% alcohol by volume! Some types of gasoline contain alcohol as an oxygenate. Oxygenated gasoline may cause increased operating temperatures. Under certain conditions, alcohol-based gasoline may also reduce the lubricating qualities of some 2-cycle mixing oils. Generic oils and some outboard oils should never be used in your Shindaiwa engine.
Starting the Engine Before starting the engine This unit comes completely asembled. Before using this product, please make sure you have all the components required for a complete unit. Carefully inspect all components for damage.
Starting the engine (continued) When the motor starts... 1. Open the choke by moving the choke lever backward (toward the fuel tank). 2. If the engine does not continue to run, repeat the appropriate cranking procedures for a cold or warm engine. 3. When the engine starts, clear excess fuel from the combustion chamber by accelerating the engine several times with the throttle lever. 4. Operating the throttle will automatically disengage the fast idle setting.

50 hour maintenance Ever y 50 hours of operation (more often in dusty or dirty conditions): Ŷ Remove and clean the cylinder cover and clean grass and dirt from the cylinder fins. Gearcase lubrication Remove the gearcase cover, and use solvent and a soft brush to remove all old grease from the gearcase. To refill, hand-pack the gearcase with approximately 40–50 grams of high quality lithium-based grease (50– 70% of capacity).

Sécurité Sécurité au travail Demeurer vigilant Les taille-bordure peut infliger de graves blessures physiques à l’opérateur ou aux observateurs s’il est utilisé de manière inappropriée, abusive ou imprudente. Pour réduire le risque de blessures, toujours s’assurer de maîtriser l’appareil et observer toutes les consignes de sécurité pendant son fonctionnement. Ne jamais laisser le taille-haie entre les mains d’une personne qui n’a pas lu les consignes d’utilisation.

L’utilisation de mélanges d’huile non autorisés risque d’entraîner une accumulation excessive de dépôt de calamine. Démarrage du moteur Avant démarrage Le taille-haie est entièrement assemblé. Avant l’utilisation, inspecter l’appareil pour s’assurer que toutes les composantes sont en place et que les attaches sont serrées. VUE DE DESSOUS Lubrification du boîtier d’engrenages Ŷ Enlever le couvercle du boîtier d’engrenages. Utiliser un dissolvant et une brosse à poils doux pour enlever la graisse usée du boîtier d’engrenages.
