NISSIN RETRO BRAKE MASTERCYLINDER KIT
PART # 17-654A/B (5/8” Piston)
PART # 17-654D/E (14mm Piston)
PART # 17-654G/H (1/2” Piston)
**All kits are inspected for quality before it ships by the manufacturer.
**Air-bleeding is a difficult process. Because each kit is thoroughly examined for anti-leaking,
each kit is assured that it is capable of bleeding air completely, if done correctly.
Information:
-For 7/8” diameter handlebars
-Use M10 x P1.25 Banjo-Bolt
-Only use this product on handlebars that bent down approximately at a 15 degree
angle from the horizontal motorcycle position.
-Use DOT 4 polyglycol ether based fluid and Do NOT use DOT 5 brake fluid or silicone
based fluid
Instructions:
* Refer to illustrations below before installation
1. Release all brake fluid.
2. Remove stock master cylinder assembly.
3. Install new master cylinder assembly to the handlebar. Connect brake hose with
M10 x P1.25 banjo bolt. Always use a new gasket.
4. Remove reservoir tank cap and diaphragm. Fill the reservoir tank with new brake fluid.
5. Bleed the air continuously until all the air is completely released and lever has a sharp
grip. Any air left inside may result in poor brake function and may cause an accident.
6. When air bleeding is finished, attach reservoir tank cap and diaphragm.
7. Connect the brake switch connector to the new master cylinder assembly and make
sure that the brake lamp is working.
8. Adjust the angle of the lever for best position.
9. Make sure that the lever does not shift around, that the brake hose and banjo bolt
area is not leaking, and nothing is in the way of your brakes when steering.
