SETUP
Dust Collection
Since each machine produces a different amount
of sawdust, the requirements for the minimum
amount of CFM to move that sawdust is unique
to the machine (for example, a planer produces
more sawdust than a table saw). Knowing this
required CFM is important to gauging which size
of duct to use.
Based on the dust port size of the machine to
be connected to the dust collector, Figure 14
will give you a close estimation of the CFM that
is reduced because of dust port size. A machine
that generates large wood chips should be
placed as close to the dust collector as possible.
