Problems and Solutions
Problem: Handset does not turn on.
Solutions:
The battery may be dead. Place the handset in the charger and the handset should turn on and
begin charging. If that does not work, try replacing the battery with a new one or one from another
handset to check if the battery can no longer hold a charge.
If the handset does not light when you place it in the charging stand during initial installation, check
whether the outlet you are using is controlled by a switch that is off. Also check that all power
connections are secure.
Problem: Handset does not ring.
Solution: Check that the ringer volume is not turned all the way down. Push the volume control +
button to increase the ringer level. If the handset does not ring while in the charger, check the setting of
the Silent Charging feature by following the procedure in Disabling Ringing while Charging on page 21
to make sure Silent Charging is turned off.
