Easy to use, perfect for professional use and home repairs.
Paintable • Elastomeric
Use to fill cracks and holes in exterior walls, stucco, concrete or textured interior
ceilings & walls.
USES: Shur-Stik® Permanent Patch® 102 is a textured, ready-to-use, brush-on,
acrylic latex based compound for exterior or interior patching and caulking. It adheres to
most common building materials and most combinations of such materials. It can be
brushed over hairline cracks to seal them. It is water resistant and offers outstanding
flexibility, adhesion and durability for repairing, sealing and resurfacing.
• Adhesion - Excellent to most surfaces that are clean and free of dirt, dust
or mold.
• Flexibility - Tested to 100% elongation and recovery without rupture of
joints.
• Sag Control - Excellent. Bonds rapidly when applied properly.
• Tested Temperature Range of Service - 0?F - +250?F.
• Non-Staining
• Paintability - Within minutes depending on thickness of coat and weather
conditions. Coating does not need to be completely dry if paint is
conventional vinyl or acrylic latex based paints. Oil base paints can be
applied only after the patching compound is completely dry, usually 3 to 4
days.
• Water Resistance - Excellent
• Color - Off-white. May be tinted with universal colorants.
SURFACE PREPARATION: Surfaces must be clean and free of grease, oil, loose parti-
cles, and chalky material. Permanent Patch® 102 can be applied with a stiff brush or
roller. If a primer or sealer is used, it should be allowed to dry for 24 to 48 hours before
application of brush-on Permanent Patch® 102. Application of multiple coats (20 - 25
mils) is recommended for large repairs.
APPLICATION: Permanent Patch® 102 may be applied to a damp surface and painted
within 30 minutes with vinyl or acrylic latex paint. If oil or alkyd paints are used, patched
surface must be completely dry before painting (allow at least 24-48 hours). All-purpose
tinting colors can be mixed into the material if desired.
To bridge cracks or voids larger than 1/4" deep and 1/4" wide, and less than 1/2" deep
by 1/2" wide (which tend to expand and contract), fiberglass or polyester reinforcing
mesh should be used with Permanent Patch® 102. Brush or roll on a thin coat around
damaged area and allow to become "tacky" before applying reinforcing fabric. After
applying reinforcing fabric, brush or roll on a finish coat, making sure reinforcing fabric is
completely covered and free of pinholes. Brush or trowel edges to match surrounding
surface texture.
COVERAGE RATE: 50 mils wet covers 32 sq ft per gallon, 20 mils wet covers 80 sq ft
per gallon.
CLEAN UP: Excess material should be removed immediately. Clean tools with water.
Use lacquer thinner if compound is too dry to remove with water.
PRECAUTIONS: Protect against freezing. Do not apply at temperatures below 50?F or
over excessively hot surfaces. For best results in hot weather, dampen area to be
patched with water to cool down surface before applying. Do not apply when rain is
imminent; rain can damage product within 12 hours after application. Permanent
Patch® is a repair compound. Depending upon the job, the use of any patching product
may not result in a like new appearance. Should a particular water base paint cause a
glossy or shiny area to appear, apply a stain blocking primer, then repaint. When trans-
porting this product, ensure that lid is tight and pail secure and upright. Do not allow pail
to tumble as this may cause lid to loosen and leakage to occur. Do not transport on pas-
senger seats or inside the passenger compartment of any vehicle. Store product in the
cargo area of vehicle, and secure over protective cloths to prevent damage due to acci-
dental spills. Do not reuse empty containers. Do not use in drinking water or food sys-
tems. For longest life, store in controlled environment, 35°F-80°F. Do not store in direct
sunlight.
