BACnet peer-to-peer communication between Desigo PX devices from the
earliest version to the current version is guaranteed.
Restrictions
As soon as an automation station or a system controller with the newest Desigo
firmware is used in a runtime system, all operating clients and Desigo Control
Point must be upgraded to the same version. Otherwise, only limited operation
is available.
Not all Desigo PX devices in the field can be upgraded to the newest firmware
version.
For information on the hardware and firmware compatibility of the Desigo CC
management platform, see
Desigo CC System Description
(A6V1041550).
TX-I/O
A firmware update or upgrade from TX-I/O modules is not possible (except for
TXI1.OPEN, TXI2.OPEN, and TXI2-S.OPEN).
To load firmware, protocol applications, and the configuration to the TX Open
modules, use the TX Open Tool, which is available as a part of XWP.
See
Desigo Xworks Plus Online Help
(CM111006).
23.2.10 Backward compatibility
Desigo software and libraries are downwards compatible. Desigo products can
process data compiled with earlier versions.
Restrictions
After upgrading Desigo project data for a Desigo software product to the
newest version, the data can only be accessed or processed with the
appropriate software/LibSets for the newest version.
23.2.11 Engineering compatibility
All project data on all system levels must have the same LibSet with the same
LibSet version number for unlimited engineering of tested Desigo solutions
(libraries).
To use the current library extensions, all project data must be upgraded to the
current version.
When engineering a tool project, all tool installations must have the same
version as the project.
23.2.12 Compatibility with Desigo Configuration Module
(DCM)
The Desigo Configuration Module (DCM) version supplied with the relevant
Desigo system covers the available Desigo product scope.
When importing DCM projects from earlier DCM versions, the project is
converted to the status and options of the current DCM version. After
conversion, the project data can only be revised in the current DCM version.
DCM projects from DCM version 5.0 support import.
DCM requires Microsoft Office.
Note
Automation stations PXC4 and PXC5, as well as the DXR1 range are not
supported in DCM.
