WEP
ì In the Key Length field, select the required length of the WEP key.
Please bear in mind that all the components in a network must use the same key
length to be able to communicate with each other.
Use a 128 bit key if all the network components support it. This offers greater
security for the data in your network.
ì In the Key Type field, select the character format for creating keys:
HEX
The keys are entered as hexadecimal numbers. Only enter digits 0 to 9 and the
letters A to F. A 128-bit key uses 26 hexadecimal numbers, a 64-bit key
10 hexadecimal numbers.
ASCII
The key is formed from any characters in the ASCII set. A 128-bit key uses
13 characters and a 64-bit key 5 characters.
Once you have selected the key length and key type, you can either use a passphrase for
automatic key generation or enter the key manually:
u Generating keys with a passphrase
For encryption, you can use a passphrase from which the required keys are
generated automatically.
ì Select the option Use Passphrase.
This activates the appropriate entry field.
