MEC Migration Kits
Description
The MEC Migration Kit is designed to efficiently
migrate an existing Modular Equipment Controller
(MEC) or Point Expansion Modules (PXM) to the latest
state-of-the-art hardware platform while leveraging
past system investments.
It is an integral part of the complete MEC Fast Forward
Migration solution, specially developed to control
migration costs, and minimize downtime and
disruptions.
There are three migration kits available depending on
the enclosure size the MEC is installed which will allow
the re-use existing conduit and wiring.
Other physical system assets remain, including
Insight® 3.x workstation, TECs, most sensors, and
controlled devices. Additional system investments are
also preserved, including system engineering,
programming, databases, graphics, training, initial
system configuration, and commissioning.
Features
• Each migration kit fits within an existing MEC
enclosure with DIN rails and wire tie bars pre-
installed to align with windows of the MBC or RBC
styled door.
− MEC Large Migration Kit – to migrate an MEC
and/or PXM in a MEC large enclosure,
includes two 28” DIN rails
− MEC Small Migration Kit – to migrate an MEC
and/or PXM in a MEC large enclosure,
includes two 12.5” DIN rails
− MEC in SCU Migration Kit – to migrate an
MEC and/or PXM in a SCU enclosure,
includes two 20” DIN rails
Each migration kit fits within an existing MEC
(If a perforated backplane is needed, order
PXA-SCUKIT)
• Each migration kit also includes:
- One MEC Power Termination Block (PTB)
includes grounding jumper
− Migration Decal for the MEC door
• Flexibility to mount controller to ease re-
terminations of wires.
• Optional Wire Extender Kits available.
