Product Description

The Modular Equipment Controller (MEC) enclosure

(Figure 1) protects MECs against airborne

contaminants such as lint, dust, dirt, water seepage,

dripping, and external condensation of non-corrosive

liquids.

The MEC panel is factory-equipped with the

following:

• Factory-installed backplane assembly which

includes wire tie down rails

• Wall template

• Label pouch

Required Tools and Materials

• Adjustable wrench or pliers

• Electric drill

• Greenlee punch

• Hammer

• Level

• Marker

• Screwdrivers, small and medium Phillips-

head

• Tape measure

• Tie-wraps

• Wire stripper/side cutters

To mount on concrete or masonry:

• 1/2 inch (12.7 mm) drill bit

• Four lead wall anchors

Prerequisites

CAUTION:

Enclosure must be mounted on a non-

vibrating surface, at least 12 feet (3.65 m)

away from large motors and radio

equipment.

Under no circumstances should the

enclosure be mounted on ductwork or

HVAC equipment.

Determine the mounting location of the enclosure using the spacing requirements shown in Figure 2. See Figure 3 and Figure 4 for panel dimensions. • Minimum spacing between the panel and any obstruction is 5 inches (127 mm) to the left (hinged side) and 5 inches (127 mm) to the right (lock side) (see Figure 5).
