Fiber Optic Trunk Interfaces
Fiber Optic Trunk Interface
The Fiber OpticTrunk Interface converts light energy
received on its fiber input port to RS-485 levels for
use by APOGEE field panels and Field Level Network
(FLN) devices. It converts RS-485 levels to light
energy for the fiber output port. LEDs provide visual
indication of power, and transmit and receive fiber
port activity. The interface is designed to mount in a
field panel enclosure or on a table top, or (using
optional brackets) on a wall or in a 19" rack.
Dual Fiber Optic Trunk Interface
The Dual Fiber Optic Trunk Interface provides two
fiber-to-485 interfaces in a 'T' configuration. Light
energy received by either fiber receive port is
converted to RS-485 levels for the Automation Level
Network (ALN) or FLN Trunk, and to light energy for
the fiber output port on the other half of the interface.
Received RS-485 signals are converted to light
energy for both fiber output ports. There are five LEDs
for indicating power and data activity on the fiber
ports. The interface is designed to mount in a field
panel enclosure or on a table top, or (using optional
brackets) on a wall or in a 19" rack. The Dual Fiber
Optic Trunk Interface can be used as a repeater for
fiber runs beyond the limit of one Fiber Optic Interface
(a source of 115/230 Vac power must be available at
the repeater location).
Fiber Optic RS-232 Interface
The Fiber Optic RS-232 Interface converts light
energy received on its fiber input port to RS-232
levels for use by any device supporting RS-232
transmit and receive lines (only the data lines are
supported.). The interface converts RS-232 levels to
light energy for the fiber output port. LEDs provide
visual indication of power, and transmit and receive
fiber port activity. The interface is designed to mount
in a field panel enclosure or on a table top, or (using
optional brackets) on a wall or in a 19" rack.
Fiber Optic Hub
The Fiber Optic Hub concentrates four fiber sections
into one. All signals present on any section are
repeated in real time on all other sections. The hub
contains eight LEDs to indicate data activity on the
fiber ports and one LED to indicate the presence of
logic voltage. There is an Inter-Hub RS-485 trunk
available to allow multiple hubs to be interconnected
into one larger trunk. The interface is designed to
mount in a field panel enclosure or on a table top, or
(using optional brackets) on a wall or in a 19" rack.
