4 Control applications and targets (CO2, VOC, RH, PM2.5)
In general, a variable air volume (VAV) system is needed to ensure a healthy, productive
indoor climate, as the relevant climate parameters are controlled through ventilation. This is
shown in the following table. It should be noted, however, that there are fan coil unit (FCU),
chilled/heated ceiling and heat pump applications which also control relative humidity (RH) by
switching an external humidification/dehumidification unit.
