7 Controlling indoor climate parameters
for health and productivity
7.1 Product bundles overview
The table below shows the product bundles for controlling CO2, VOC, RH and PM2.5. CO2,
VOC and RH can be controlled via VAV applications. Relative humidity can also be controlled
via humidifier/dehumidifier in FCU and chilled/heated ceiling applications.
PM2.5 is controlled by improving air filters (in AHU) and, if needed, by room air purification.
Product bundles (A to F) Benefits
CO2
and
VOC
(A) VAV control via Desigo Room Automation
with room sensor
DXR2.. AQR.. GDB../GLB..
Control of IAQ (combined CO
2/VOC)
Increased occupant health/productivity
Copy application to multiple rooms
High energy efficiency (demand control)
Contain odors (overpressure control)
Easily add lights/blinds control on PL-Link
Note: Siemens also offers a product family
combining room controller and a VAV compact
controller in one hardware device. See details in
Section 8.5 “VAV controllers”
(B) VAV control via Desigo Room Automation
with room unit, room sensor
DXR2.. QMX3.. AQR.. GDB../GLB..
Control of CO
2, optionally VOC1), RH2)
Increased occupant health/productivity
Room unit for occupant interaction
Copy application to multiple rooms
High energy efficiency (demand control)
Contain odors (overpressure control)
Easily add lights/blinds control on PL-Link
1) VOC optionally by adding AQR2547Nx +
AQR2530NNW
2) QMX3.P74 room unit has inbuilt T, CO
2 and RH
sensors. So relative humidity can be controlled
via AHU humidification/dehumidification or
other external humidification/dehumidification
unit
(C) VAV control via KNX room thermostat
RDG405KN AQR.. GDB../GLB..
Control of IAQ (combined CO
2/VOC)
Increased occupant health/productivity
Cost-optimized hardware
Easy application selection by DIP switch
Standalone or communicating (KNX)
Can be integrated into BACS for increased energy
efficiency and remote monitoring
