Setting Up Connect Device and Building Operator

Device operation
Description
Restart
This action will reboot the device.
Connection to the cloud will be lost
during reboot process.
Factory reset
This action will delete all data and reset
the gateway to its original settings and
state. Device will have to be set up
again to be operational.
Reset configuration
This action will delete all user
applications and user data, but the
device will remain operational.
Enable SSH
Operating system on the Connect
Device is a Linux distribution protected
by encryption keys where SSH
connections are disabled. This action
will enable SSH connections.
Download log files
This action will download gateway data.
This may take a few minutes,
depending on the number of log files
being downloaded.
Restart applications
This action will restart the applications
currently on the device.
See the Cybersecurity Guidelines (A6V11852371) for more details on SSH and
why it is disabled by default.
CAUTION
If you reset the Connect device to the factory settings, the network settings and
the configured project data will be lost. The device must be commissioned again.
1.2 Setting Up Connect Device and Building
Operator
The instructions in this document will cover how to properly commission the
Connect device, as well as establish remote web access. We recommend you first
read the Connect device Quick Install Guide, found in the Building Operator Help
tab.
The first time you set up Connect device and Building Operator, you must update
the software Connect device. Once the device registration and software updates
are completed, you can connect to Building Operator Discovery remotely.
