Model CPY-1200 can be filled with HFC-227ea
suppression agent or with 3M™ Novec™ 1230 Fire
Protection Fluid. Each cylinder is pressurized with
nitrogen to 360 psig at 70°F (21.1°C), and is
manufactured, tested and marked in accordance with
DOT 4BA500 or 4BW500 specifications for the various
sizes. Model CPY-1200 is DOT approved.
Model CPY-1200 is produced
with a specially
designed base that provides two functions:
 The base allows for a pallet jack to be inserted for
trouble-free handling. Model CPY-1200 has been
designed to pass through standard doorways and
elevators.
 The base is also designed to distribute the weight across
a floor area of a fully-charged cylinder.
Specifications
The Model CPY-1200 cylinder uses a 4”-inch (10.2
cm.) valve outlet designed for victaulic fittings
and pipe only.
These pressure-seated valves are designed for
high-flow rates to meet the rapid discharge time
specified in NFPA 2001.
Models CPY-1200, which incorporates a similar
design as the other cylinder valves, utilizes
304
stainless steel
rather than brass.
The discharge outlets are fitted with an anti-recoil
plug. The anti-coil plug is a safety device to
prevent movement of the cylinder in the event of
discharge
– while each cylinder valve is neither
connected to the piping system, nor is securely
fastened to a solid structure.
Valve Controls
The 4” (10.2 cm.) valve size accepts the same set
of valve controls described below:
Electronic Solenoid Valve
The optional Electronic Solenoid Valve opens
upon electric energy being applied
– thus
relieving the pressure above the valve piston and
causing the cylinder valve to open. Solenoids are
furnished with 24" (61 cm.) pigtails.
