4.4.2 Setting the domain name
1. Select the Domain node: Security Æ Users Æ Domain and then select the
Node tab.
2. Specify the Domain name (Fig.68).

e: In a Single Station configuration, the domain name is the PC name. In a Dis-
tributed System configuration, whenever a network domain security applies, it must
be the network domain name.

4.4.3 Assigning user group permissions
By default, there are eight user groups organised in incremental capability levels.
However, new groups can be added and the default groups renamed.
Default user groups
Level 0: Default operator group 1, Default operator group 2
Level 1: Standard operator group 1, Standard operator group 2
Level 2: Advanced operator group 1, Advanced operator group 2
Level 3: Backup operator
Level 4: Project administrators
New groups can be added, e.g.:
User Type #1, #2, etc. (new groups)
User levels permissions
Each Group Level is authorised to a given set of functions. Composer allows for
their customisations in three tabs of each User Group node:
Event Settings: Define the options available during event treatment
Client settings: Define the options related to MM8000 Client applications
System settings: Define the options available at global system level
In each configuration page, you can define what the users belonging to the group
can or cannot do in the operations with MM8000. The specific functionalities are
described in the MM8000 Operation Manual, document no.A6V10062409.
To assign user group permissions, perform the following steps:
1. Select and expand Users and then the domain node to display the user
groups.
2. Select a user group.
3. Select the Client Settings tab to change the Client application permissions
(Fig.69). Namely:
Browsers Check to enable the configuration of browsers
Plant Browser Enable the access to the plant browser
Scheduler Enable the access to the Scheduler and optionally the capability to
