Product Overview
The System 3 enclosures from Siemens ─ Fire
Safety are used to support the fire system’s input
and output modules, as well as its power supplies.
Each enclosure consists of a back box and door
cover assembly fabricated of heavy gauge sheet
steel. The back box, which is finished in black
enamel, is designed for mounting the ‘Z’ brackets
and ‘U’ channel supports on which are mounted
the controls, modules, and power supplies.
The door is mounted with a sag-resistant, steel-
piano hinge, and is fitted with a key locking
arrangement. Left-hand or right-hand mounting
can be made on all model types for these
enclosures. Further, each enclosure can either be
surface or semi-flush mounted.
Each door contains full-width horizontal viewing
slots, permitting visual identification of each row
of modules for the various System 3 functions.
The inside of the door is fitted with brackets to
accommodate blank face plates to cover those
positions in the back box not occupied by the
System 3 panel or its modules.
The enclosures are sellable in increments of 16, 24
and 40-module model types. Further, all versions
of these Siemens
─ Fire Safety enclosures are
shipped unassembled (back box and door cover) to
facilitate installation. The only installation
requirements are to bolt the complete system
assembly, in position, via the back box, and to
mount the hinged-door-cover assembly.
