Technical information
Ultrasound sensor
The ultrasound sensor, integrated in the cooker hood, helps
detect the density of kitchen fumes arising and
automatically adjusts the extractor power accordingly. This
precise use of the extractor minimises noise levels and also
saves electricity as the cooker hood never uses more energy
than is required at the time.
cleanAir Recirculation filteration
The largest slatted surface of the special active carbon filter
in the cleanAir module guarantees 95% odour reduction.
That is every bit as good as the ducted system and up to
25% better than a conventional recirculation system. The
surface of this special active carbon filter is equivalent to
around 50 football pitches.
Charcoal Re-circulating filteration
The charcoal re-circulating filter eliminates unpleasant
odours and is easy to install and replace.
Choosing a hood: Exhaust air mode or
recirculation operation mode?
Not all household can accommodate the extractor hoods
with exterior ventilation due to limitation of interior setting.
Hoods in recirculation mode could therefore be a solution.
Most Siemens hoods can be operated in both exhaust air
mode and recirculation mode and allow full flexibility to
install the hood for optimum performance. In recirculation
mode, the extracted air passes through the metal filter to
remove grease, and then through a carbon filter to remove
odours before being directed back into the kitchen.
Recirculated extraction rate is slightly lower in comparison
to exhausted extraction and the odour filter will need to be
replaced on a regular basis. Yet re-circulating the air offers
an energy efficiency benefit, in that cool air is retained in
the home in the summer and warm air is not vented out
during winter months.

Intake air temperature: 20°C
Exhaust air: 20°C

Intake / outdoor temperature:
Winter e.g. -5°C / Summer e.g. 30°C
Exhaust air: 20°C
-> Loss of warm and cold air
An illuminating experience
Siemens hoods offer excellent illumination of the hob space
underneath. Most of Siemens hoods use 20W halogen
bulbs, which emit a bright white light and are extremely
energy efficient. Each bulb uses 35% less energy than a
standard 40W cooker hood bulb, and they need replacing
much less often too. Our new island chimney hood features
bright, long-lasting and super energy efficient LED lights,
using even less energy than a single low-voltage halogen
light. These LEDs are currently amongst the brightest on the
market.
