T400 Controller Facilities Manual
667/EB/20200/000 Page 25-21 Issue 9
Only the ‘non-latching’ mode of operation is available on the controller when using a
free-standing RLM unit (latching is achieved in the free-standing RLM unit its-self).
25.4.4 Support for Original RLM Facility
The controller can be configured to select either the enhanced RLM facility or the
original RLM facility (by setting or clearing the appropriate bit in the facilities table -
see item C10).
If the original facility is selected, the controller will respond as for previous issues of
the firmware, i.e. the intergreen hold period is timed starting from the stage change
point and the hold period is configured on a stream basis.
The original RLM facility can be selected in conjunction with the integral RLM unit, so
that customers can retain the original method of operation but move to the new
hardware platform.
Since the original RLM facility on the controller only provided for one set of RLM
inputs (RLF1, RLF2 and RLF3), only the first RLM group on the integral RLM unit
would be configured.
Since the integral RLM unit has a fast response to the second red lamp fail, the RLF3
input on the controller is not required.
