Manual release button
Extinguishing can be manually activated by using a Manual Release button.
Remote transmission
Along with on-site alarm notification, activation of extinguishing and faults can be transmitted
to an external receiving station or passed on to a fire detection system.
Fire protection installations
As a rule, before automated extinguishing is triggered, building fire protection installations must be set in the
correct position. For example: Door holding magnets are de-energized, fire protection flaps are closed and fans
and air-conditioning systems are turned off.
Activation of extinguishing and monitoring
The valve on the cylinder is triggered for activation of extinguishing. In addition, the cylinder pressure
is constantly checked using a cylinder manometer that triggers a contact if the value is too low.
Extinguishing blocking
During the pre-warning time an activation of extinguishing already initiated can be temporarily stopped by
pressing the Emergency Hold Button or canceled by pressing the Emergency Abort Button. The automatic
activation of extinguishing can be blocked as a precaution for maintenance work. In this instance, in the event
of fire, it is possible to press the Manual Release Button for activation of extinguishing.

Aspirating smoke detection (ASD)
The aspirating smoke detector from Siemens draws air samples from the room, measures the size and concentration
of the airborne particles and classifies them. This ensures very early and highly reliable fire detection in areas where high detection
sensitivity is essential. The sensitivity of the detector can be adjusted. The specially developed Asyst Planning Tool from Siemens supports
you in designing the pipe network.
Extinguishing control panel
XC1003 is a reliable and efficient panel for detection and extinguishing control. The user interface provides a clear layout, so users can gain
a complete system overview at a glance. XC1003 can also be easily integrated into larger fire safety systems. Such integration means that
XC1003 can be connected with powerful control panels. This ensures comfortable visibility of both fire detection and extinguishing at a
central point. As a further benefit, the fire safety system can be connected to a Siemens danger management system. The XC1003
extinguishing control unit is used for displaying, operating and monitoring the functions of an extinguishing area and its immediate
environments. All detectors, alarming devices, illuminated warning panel, monitoring devices and controllers are connected to the
extinguishing control unit. If a detector triggers an alarm, it is transmitted to the extinguishing control unit. At the extinguishing control unit
the decision is made how the alarm is to be processed. In the event of fire, the detector zone of the alarming fire detector is indicated on the
extinguishing control unit. In the basic settings, detector zones 1 and 2 serve the automatic activation of extinguishing. The extinguishing
control unit assesses the zones in a so-called cross-zoning: in order to activate extinguishing, one fire detector from each group must trigger
an alarm. This principle ensures high reliability so that extinguishing is not unjustified triggered.

1230 Fire Protection Fluid, is ideal for the protection of delicate electronics.
The extinguishing concentration needed with Novec 1230 fluid is between 5 and 6%, the lowest of all today’s allowed extinguishing
agents, therefore space requirements and pressure relief flaps are also minimized compared to other chemical agent
or inert gas systems.
Sinorix Compact based on Sinorix 1230 concept uses a 42 bar technology. A criteria that ensures full agent evaporation (10s after start
of discharge at the latest) and extinguishing in additional few seconds. This is of key relevance in a data center, to ensure that the
resulting HF (hydrofluoric acid, generated by all chemical agents containing fluoride atoms) concentrations are negligible and far below
the levels that are critical for personnel and installed equipment.
Sinorix Compact can be equipped with Silent Nozzle(s) or standard nozzle(s).
For highest protection needs of server rooms Sinorix Silent Nozzle is recommended as the findings of Siemens investigations concluded
that magnetic hard disk drives are noise-sensitive. Silent Nozzle and associated measures can prevent noise-induced disruptions to hard
disk drives and entire storage systems in data centers and server rooms.

Global Warming Potential is the lowest of all chemical agents (GWP=1) therefore is not listed in the Kyoto Protocol
or the F-Gas Regulation
